My friend's husband died last night, right around the time I was writing the last post. I got her graceful and heartbreaking message just now. I knew already, since my daughter texted me this morning, but Claire's words on the screen made it real. My daughter is coming home on Sunday to be with her friend.

Such a sad time for all of you. I am really and truly so sorry and wish I could be there to pray with you and just hold your hands. Your friend and you and your daughter are in my prayers. Perhaps this bad time will in some way bring you even closer to your daughter. Tragedies can have a way of doing that.
